Final day to contribute to the Blueprint for Australian Ag
12 July 2012
The opportunity to input into the Blueprint for Australian Agriculture closes tomorrow, Friday 13 July, and the National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) is encouraging all within agriculture that are yet to contribute to have their say today.
NFF President Jock Laurie is in Launceston today for the Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association conference, where Blueprint is on the agenda.
Mr Laurie said today’s Blueprint session, like all the Blueprint forums to date, provides a platform for those within agriculture and the agricultural supply chain to contribute to setting the future direction of the sector.
“The Blueprint is designed to be a road map for the future of the sector, developed by agriculture, for agriculture; allowing us as an industry to identify the issues, challenges and opportunities ahead and – most importantly – to plan for them,” Mr Laurie said.
“It’s about setting the direction for the industry that we want to see; not waiting for someone else to set this direction for us.
“More than 1,800 people from across the agricultural supply chain have completed the Blueprint survey to date. If you are yet to contribute, I strongly encourage you to do so today,” Mr Laurie said.
Today’s Blueprint session in Tasmania follows a Blueprint forum held in Canberra recently for emerging industry leaders from right across the country, including representatives of the NFF membership network, Future Farmers’ Network, Australian Year of the Farmer, Nuffield Australia, Australian Rural Leadership Foundation and the Rural Industries Research & Development Corporation – among many others.
The NFF has also hosted a meeting of the Blueprint Advisory Group, comprising of key industry leaders from across agriculture and the supply chain to provide input and strategic direction to the development of the Blueprint.
The Blueprint for Australian Agriculture is an initiative of the NFF, in partnership with Westpac, Woolworths and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. Input is open to all; to contribute to the Blueprint, simply click here and complete the online survey by close of business tomorrow, Friday 13 July.
