Agriculture road map leads to Adelaide
26 April 2012
The National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) will next week host a Blueprint for Australian Agriculture forum in Adelaide.
The forum, which will take place next Wednesday 2 May, is designed to give all those involved with or interested in agriculture in South Australia the chance to contribute to its future direction.
Farmers, agronomists, researchers, consultants, small business operators, transporters, processors and retailers are all invited to attend the forum, which will hear from NFF President Jock Laurie, the 2011 SA RIRDC Rural Women’s Award runner up and administration officer for the Future Farmers Network, Rebecca Williams, as well as representatives from the South Australian Farmers Federation, GrainGrowers and the Australian Veterinary Association.
“The Blueprint is about giving all involved with agriculture the chance to say what they believe the critical challenges and opportunities for the sector are – both now and in the future,” Mr Laurie said.
“It’s about determining the future that we want for our agricultural sector and the wider supply chain, and setting the plan for how we are going to achieve it.
“We encourage all with an interest in our food and fibre sectors to come along next week, have your say, and help us create a strong and sustainable future for generations to come,” Mr Laurie said.
The Blueprint forum is free to attend, open to all and will be held at the Adelaide Pavilion from 1-5pm on Wednesday 2 May. For more information or to register to attend, please visit the Blueprint webpage or call the NFF on 02 6269 5666.
The Blueprint is an initiative of the NFF, delivered with support from Westpac and Woolworths.
The South Australian Blueprint forum is proudly supported by NFF members: Australian Livestock & Property Agents Association, Australian Veterinary Association, Beechworth Honey, Cattle Council of Australia, Corporate Agriculture Group, Goat Industry Council of Australia, GrainGrowers, Ridley Corporation, Sheepmeat Council of Australia and WoolProducers.
