AgCAREERSTART is the only national program designed to provide a structured pathway for young Australians into rewarding agricultural careers. The program offers an immersive, paid on-farm placement complemented by training, networking, pastoral care, and career development opportunities that set participants up for long-term success in agriculture.
The AgCAREERSTART pilot program, established by the Commonwealth Government and delivered by the National Farmers’ Federation, was created to tackle critical workforce challenges in the Australian food and fibre production sector.
AgCAREERSTART has transformed opportunities for young Australians, particularly those from non-agricultural and metropolitan backgrounds, providing them a clear, supported and exciting pathway into agricultural careers.
We want to see young people in agriculture! We see an ageing workforce in agriculture becoming an impediment to sustainable growth. We believe agriculture is an essential sector than needs young people in it to keep our future bright. Our community needs young people to enrich and enliven us.
